When Wishes Come True

By Brandi Towns  |  GlynnDevins  |  9:30 am

Like many people, whenever I see a shooting star, I make a wish. Occasionally, it’s granted. Oftentimes, I’m not as lucky. But when a wish does come true, it feels really good ─ no matter how old I am, or how big or small my wish.

Eighty-two-year-old Jim Miller was granted a very special wish this holiday season. Recently Jim was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and is now unable to continue building and flying model planes, as he had for the past 50 years. That is, until AgeWell Home Care fulfilled his wish and helped him fly again.

Here’s a heart-warming video featured on KARE 11’s Boyd Huppert’s Land of 10,000 Stories about how a Minnesota-based company has granted more than 150 wishes to deserving older adults like Jim.

What a great reminder that it’s the simple things that truly make a difference to those we work with each and every day. What more could anyone wish for?
